EBSU WINS 3RD POSITION IN NATIONAL UNIVERSITIES COMPUTER PROGRAMMIG CONTEST
Ebonyi State University has emerged 3rd position in the 2018 National Universities Computer Programming Contest. Presenting the award to the Vice-Chancellor, His Excellency, Elder Prof. Chigozie N. Ogbu, the Head of Computer Science department, Dr. Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ajah, stated that the competition which was organised by the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja and Association of Computing Machine, ACM, among computer science departments nationally, involved cognitive and critical thinking of a best way to solve human problems, using a set of algorithms and computer language (computer programming).
Dr. Ajah further said that the 2018 Nigerian Universities computer programming contest which held from October 28 to November 3, was the first time the department of computer science, Ebonyi State University participated, in what she described as the 7th edition. The 3 students who made EBSU proud are: Nwangbo Ernest, Wilson Chukwu Emmanuel and Joseph Emmanuel including the Coach that worked so hard to prepare the students, Mr. Iteshi Anselem Chinedu, a lecturer from the department.
