EBSU FACULTY OF LAW EMERGES AFRICA’S BEST AT THE 33RD EDITION OF THE CHRISTOF HEYNS AFRICAN MOOT COURT COMPETITION HELD IN KIGAL , RWANDA.

The Faculty of Law, Ebonyi State University Team has made history on 27th day of July, 2024, when they emerged winner of the 33rd African Moot Court Competition. The keenly contested competition which had 68 Anglophone teams and 15 Francophone teams was presided over at the final round by Justice Imandi D. Aboud – the current President of the African Court on Human & Peoples’ Rights.
The competition which progressed from Preliminary Rounds, through Quarter Final and Semi Final Rounds, saw EBSU Faculty of Law Team soar to the Final Round, defeating 67 other English speaking teams after an amazing show of legal prowess.
It is most remarkable that, EBSU Faculty of Law, is the *first Faculty of Law in NIGERIA to win the Competition, in the 33 Years of the Competition.
The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Uchechukwu Uguru and the Team have expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chigozie Ogbu and the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru for their unwavering support and commitment to the EBSU Law Clinic and in providing the necessary resources and encouragement for this and other achievements.
The team, led by Dr (Mrs) Chioma Iteshi, comprised of the duo of Ibor Cynthia Nwamaka and Michael Agu-Ebeke.
